About Me

Helena, is a Petroleum Engineer with 5 years of experience in developing analytical solutions for process automation in data science and engineering. Her expertise includes processing and developing data-centric data models, stored procedures, triggers, APIs, unit tests, and reports.

Having grown up in Angola, where the energy sector, plays a pivotal role in the nation's economy, Helena embarked on a journey that initially led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering.

Helena did the last 3 years of her university career while She was working as a data scientist/data research analyst at the GEOANGOL company, an experience that was exhausting and challenging in similar proportions. During her time working in a company that offers solutions to the oil and gas industry, Helena have seen firsthand how new technologies and big data tools have been transforming how corporate decisions are made. That aroused her curiosity in different Machine Learning techniques and for that reason, She started seeking quality training and developing independent projects. After that, She was approached by a recruiter who allowed her to unleash her skills in the e-commerce industry in 2021.

CasaCon Home Center gave her an incredible opportunity to refine her professional skills. The capable leadership at CasaCon quickly identified her project management and analytical skills and they gave her huge responsibilities. She worked closely with the Country General Manager and the Chief Strategy Officer to identify the trend of digital subscription sales from CasaCon bookstores and demographic features of areas near the store. During Helena's watch, they closed strategic deals with 6+ companies that are now contributing more than 15% of the portfolio revenue.

After that incredible experience, in December 2022, Helena was invited to join a Fintech Company, the Millennium Atlantic Bank. It was a hard decision but the challenge of joining the fourth-biggest Bank in the country was an opportunity that She could not decline. Coming from Angola, where the population suffers the consequences of the bureaucratic process, Helena was extremely excited about Millennium Atlantic Banks' mission of business innovation for financial inclusion through open banking, decentralization, and digital platforms.
